Multi-purpose Model 1609 among new models for 2009. PHOTO GALLERYCRESCO, Iowa/May 1, 2008 — Featherlite expanded its selection of hauling choices today with the introduction of enticing, new enhancements to its product line. The array of new trailers, features and options offer more choices for hauling horses, livestock, ATVs, motorcycles and other recreational and utility equipment.

The new collection of 2009 Featherlite trailers was introduced to its 220-member dealer network as part of the annual 2-day Featherlite International Dealer Meeting held May 1-2, 2008.

More options in horse trailers Horse owners have exciting new options when configuring their Featherlite horse trailer including a redesigned swing out saddle rack and polished ‘Wave’ side panels. New Medalist Series options include dramatically distinctive frameless windows and heavier duty feed doors.

Enhancements made to Featherlite’s standard features include a new rubber hold down that more securely holds the feed door in place when in the down position during hauling. In addition, Featherlite’s ‘Wave’ side panels were enhanced to include a new trim that further completes the distinctive look of these sleek aluminum side panels.

“Styling and convenience were the focal points for the new options and features selected for our 2009 models,” Featherlite National Sales Manager Randy Lewis said.

Expanded décor collection In 2007, Featherlite first partnered with Sierra Custom Interiors to produce Featherlite’s entire line of living quarters interiors, which continues today, but now includes even more choices for horse owners.

Among the many new décor options available in Featherlite living quarters is an expanded selection of cabinet woods including Aged Paulownia (dark oak), Farmyard Hickory, Moving Walnut and Trinity Oak, in addition to the traditional choices. There is something for everyone in the 2009 assortment of fabric selections for seating or valances including extra this year, a medley of upgraded exotic leather seating options, featuring a number of animal patterns. Standard flooring is linoleum, which in 2009 models feature more stone walk qualities. Upgrades to ceramic or hardwood are available.

Wraparound lights now standard on stock trailers “Popular with horse owners, Featherlite’s wraparound L.E.D. lights are now a standard fixture on Featherlite livestock trailers,” Lewis said. “They provide enhanced visibility and style to the trailer.”

Other new options for livestock trailers include graphic stripe packages for the exterior of the trailer. Plus, a new optional Platinum Package is available that includes heavy-duty Western rear gate hardware, roller on rear gate for ease of use and stylish elements including a stainless steel trailer nose, raised aluminum feather and graphic stripes.

Multi-purpose low-profile 'Mod Pod' trailer The Model 1609 'Mod Pod' is a new low-profile trailer that is versatile for hauling with a wide variety of vehicles. It can be used to haul gear for camping, hunting, fishing, vacationing or just general everyday hauling.

Model 1609 is 8’ long, 6’ wide and 4’ high. It features a rear ramp and flip-top roof for easy access to the cargo. Options on this model include a luggage rack, luggage tie down track, tool box and tie downs.

Living quarters for car haulers Featherlite car hauler Models 4926 and 4941, which also are designed for hauling ATVs and motorcycles, are now each available with living quarters. A number of décor options and floorplans are available through Sierra to personalize these models to fit customers’ hauling and now living needs.

Model 3110: Great for farmers and contractors “Featherlite’s open hauler Model 3110 is a versatile trailer for hauling all types of cargo, including cars, ATVs, skid loaders, farm equipment and more,” Lewis said. And for 2009, Featherlite has introduced a number of new options for this model.

For contractors, landscapers, farmers and others, the Model 3110 is available with a package of options to more easily accommodate the hauling of skid loaders. The skid loader edition of Model 3110 includes strong reinforcements for heavier duty hauling including crossmembers on 8” centers, and hitch tubes in lieu of channels, plus it’s equipped with heavier duty dual ramps.

Model 3110 is also now available with a wood floor, a great option for farmers looking to haul equipment or hay around the farm.

For hauling cars, ATVs and other equipment, a new optional air dam is available as well. It offers extra protection of cargo when traveling down the road.

Snowmobile Model 1648 redesigned Snowmobile Model 1648 has been redesigned to be lighter and more economical for snowmobiliers. It includes a redesigned rear ramp with cable assist, new style taillights and a redesigned rear frame.

Flatbed Model 1586 with 7K axles Featherlite’s new aluminum flatbed Model 1586 is modeled after the Model 1585. It is available in lengths from 16’ to 26’ and comes with 7K axles. The trailer is equipped with a 2” rub rail with stake pockets on 24” centers, wood flooring and LED lights.

Plus more! Dual color side sheets, including the colors of black and yellow, are now available on enclosed recreation/utility trailers. For a brighter interior, Medalist-style L.E.D. strip lighting is optional in all enclosed trailers. Many other new options and features were also introduced and will be available through your Featherlite dealer. Orders for 2009s can be placed at Featherlite dealerships now. Model year 2009 Featherlites will be available at Featherlite dealerships beginning in July.
