The option livestock owners will most appreciate is Featherlite’s new Step-Safe gates. These are available on trailers up to 24 feet long and 7’ tall. “With this optional gate, livestock can just walk right in instead of having to step over the gates,” Randy Lewis, Featherlite’s national sales manager, said. “This will make loading safer, especially to livestock unaccustomed to being trailered.”

While the Step-Safe gates will get a big share of the spotlight, eagle-eyed viewers may notice a change in Featherlite’s lighting system. All Featherlites now have L.E.D. wraparound lighting, which was introduced in May. These new lights, standard on livestock trailers, not only provide better trailer visibility at night but are also more energy-efficient and longer lasting.

In addition to safety, Featherlite is offering more customization options to people who want to outfit livestock trailers “their way.” New polished wave side panels are sure to turn heads, while red plexiglass windows provide a striking modern look. Owners can also have stripes painted on their roof rail and select dual-colored side panels.

“These options really help people customize their trailers,” Lewis said. “They’re for the individuals who have a show trailer or the livestock farmer who wants to have the sharpest-looking rig on the road.”
